~ Instant Gallery Guidelines ~

New this year will be the opportunity for participants and demonstrators to show their work in an instant gallery. You may bring up to 3 pieces for the instant gallery. We are hoping that the collective body of work will show the diversity of interests held by our club members.

Sign in will include name, description, and sales information (if applicable).

Sale will be directly between buyer and seller. The club will not collect nor distribute funds.

Club will not monitor display and will not control pickup at end of program.

Please leave items on display until end of your attendance.

A panel of demonstrators will be asked to pick their favorite piece from this collection and will explain that choice at a panel discussion Sunday morning.

~ Auction Guidelines ~

All participants, including demonstrators, may submit their work for the auction. Participants may submit one piece and demonstrators may submit two pieces.

Pieces from previous and current demostrations will be included. Display will be set up with a silent auction bid sheet for each piece. The silent auction portion of this process will continue throughout the day Saturday.

All pieces will be on a 50/50 split with the artist and the club. If someone wants to donate their 50% to the club, they may do so with a separate transaction.

At check in, an appropriate minimum bid (about 20% of the value) and bid increment needs to be set with the turner. Suggested guidelines are as follows: An item with a value under $150 should have a $5.00 increment. Items between $150 and $300 should have a $10.00 increment. Above that, the increment would be $25.00.

There is a chance that an item will not reach the value desired by the turner. However, once a bid has been received, no item may be withdrawn. We will sell the pieces at the best price we can obtain that day.

During the day, a number of items will be designated for the live auction at the dinner.

The silent auction will end early during the evening program.

We are not trying to make a profit on the auction. Any proceeds left after expenses will be used to offset the cost of future club events.

~ Used Tool Sale ~

One of last year's symposium highlights was the used tool sale, and this year should be even better. This is a great opportunity to get rid of those old tools sitting around that just collect dust.

The rules are simple. Just bring in what you want to sell. Fill out a "used tool sales tag" and "inventory sheet". Say one last goodbye to those things and leave them with the used tool sales team. There are no commissions so you get to keep all the money (unless you spend it buying other used tools)!

Start rounding up those tools now and the chances are pretty good that you can pay for your symposium registration by just getting rid of stuff you don't use. Disclaimer: in the event something doesn't sell, you are requested to take it back.
